Take a good look at the photo above. That’s my garage as it sites right now. My family and I have just completed a move from Chicago to California, and that is the challenge that faces me.
You truly have no idea how much stuff you accumulate until you see it like this. I am in need of some serious organization assistance. So when Gladiator GarageWorks asked if they could send me the highly rated Modular GearBox to try out related to spring cleaning, I not only wanted it, I needed it. Organizing my garage will be the ultimate spring cleaning.
Having dug through many plastic bins trying to find all of the tools I would need for a what I assumed would be fairly lengthy install, I pulled the freight-delivered box out of the garage and got started. I was thrilled to discover the GearBox requires only minimal assembly. Two lowers bumpers, and four large heavy-duty caster wheels are all that need to be attached. I had the GearBox complete in less than half an hour and that includes the time I took to take the pictures you see here.
Constructed of powder-coated heavy gauge steel, Gladiator GarageWorks built the GearBox like a tank. No thin, flimsy metal and spray paint here. Rated to hold a total of 1400 lbs. and 65 lbs. on the internal extending shelf, the GearBox is the perfect place to stow those heavy tools that I used to just toss on a shelf. The rear-pivoting casters make it easy to maneuver, and brakes on both front wheels lock the Gearbox solidly in place. The diamond plate doors feature extra-durable magnets to hold the closed when not locked.
While I have quite a chore still ahead of me, having the Gladiator GarageWorks Premier Series Modular GearBox provides me with a great starting point and will be the centerpiece of my new garage.
