Forget the Kingsford, This Guy Makes Charcoal With His Bare Hands (Video)

YouTuber Primitive Technology is back with another amazing survival tutorial video.

This time we get to learn how to make charcoal with just what’s laying around in the woods. Charcoal is a fuel that burns hotter than the wood it’s made from. This is because the initial energy consuming steps of combustion have taken place while making the charcoal driving off the volatile components of the wood (such as water and sap). The result is a nearly pure carbon fuel that burns hotter than wood without smoke and with less flame.

This method for making charcoal is surprisingly easy if you take the time to do it. Watch the video above and learn for yourself.
